I love painting people, and I find it almost miraculous that you can capture someone's character with dabs of oil. While my work focuses primarily on portraiture, I stay open to whatever catches my eye - from quiet landscapes to moths. Whatever I paint, my goal is always to capture what moves me through an impressionistic style that attempts to blend realism with loose, expressive brushwork. Beethoven famously inscribed his Missa Solemnis with the words "written from the heart, may it go to the heart". To me, that sentiment captures the true role of art: to share a genuine piece of oneself, a practice I hope to continue for as long as possible.
